A Magic Teapot

         Tom is a poor boy. He is 10 years old. He helps his father to collect things from trash. Every day he accompanies his father after school. His father can’t forbid him to do it because Tom has his own reason.

One day, Tom found an old-looking teapot in trash. He brought it home and kept it in his room. He looked at the teapot and rubbed it. Unintentionally, he muttered, “Hey an old teapot. You know what? (He sighed). I don’t have any money right now, what will you do?” Suddenly, light smoke came out from the teapot. Tom was surprised and threw it on his bed. When the smoke disappeared, Tom found a small pouch on the bed, next to the teapot. Tom blinked his eyes unbelievably. He took it and opened it slowly. “Hah?!” he cried. He found some golden coins inside the pouch. His hands was shaking. He couldn’t believe it at all. After some time, he showed the coins to his father. His father was very excited to know it.

Then, his father said, “Tom, we can’t use these coins right now although we’re hungry. Our neighbors might think we steal them from a rich man”. Tom said slowly, “But dad…..I’m hungry”. Once again, light smoke came out from the teapot. They were surprised and they stepped away from the teapot. Suddenly, there were delicious meal on the poor table. They were speechless.

Realizing it is a magic teapot, Tom’s father asked his son to keep it well. “Don’t tell anybody about it, Tom”, warned him. After keeping it in his closet, Tom and his father enjoyed the meal happily. They were grateful to have the magic teapot.

 

Moral of story: God will give fortune and misfortune to creatures. When we got the fortune, we have to use it well.
