In a forest, squirrel is a famous animal bekcause of his conceit. He always shows off his jumping skill. Every time he meets other animals, he always underestimates them, “Hey you, I’m sorry to see you walking in this weather”.
One day, a turtle and a mousedeer played a ball. The mousedeer was very enthusiastic. He threw the ball too fast, then it got stuck on the leaves of the tree right beside them. They were confused to take the ball.
“Ha…ha…how pity you are!” said the squirrel. He emerged behind a tree and jumped happily from one tree to another. He picked the ball.
“Hey squirrel, throw the ball to us!” said the turtle.
“Ha..ha…no, I won’t do that! You must learn how to climb this tree and jump here and there like me!” said the squirrel arrogantly.
The mousedeer and the turtle only stared at the squirrel that jumped here and there happily. The squirrel threw the ball to the tree in front of him, so the ball bounced to him. The squirrel catched it and did it again and again.
“Turtle, we should go home now. Let him play with the ball and have fun by himself,” said the mousedeer. The turtle agreed.
“Hey squirrel, we think you like the ball. You can have it by yourself. We will go home because we are tired to play all day,” said the mousedeer to the squirrel.
The squirrel was surprised with the mousedeer’s shout and lost his concentration. He fell down to puddles of mud from last night’s rain.
‘’ Byyyyur!’’
Finally, the squirrel fell down and the turtle picked up the ball. The turtle and the mousedeer laughed out loud seeing the squirrel’s body that was covered by mud.
“How pity you are, squirrel. Look at you, how funny you are! You’re always proud of your jumping skill but you fall down now”.
“You’re right, mousedeer. He is always arrogant. Now, he’s ashamed of his own words,” added the turtle.
Hearing that mock, the squirrel felt very upset. But they were right. He promised to himself that would not be arrogant anymore. Then the squirrel went home in shame.
Moral value: Don’t have over pride for our strength.
