In a remote village, there lived a poor couple. They didn’t have any child although they were married for about two years. The husband looked for wooden branches in a forest, then sold them in a market that was far away from his home. The wife was a common housewife. She planted vegetables in the garden to help her husband in fulfilling their daily needs.
One
day, when the man went to the forest to search wooden branches, he saw a sack
under a tree. He looked around and found nobody there. With a careful movement,
he opened the sack. He said to himself, “What is it?” He saw a square container
inside. After making sure that there was no one there, the man brought it home.
The
wife was a little surprised when her husband went home early while he was
bringing a container on his hand. After checking it for some time, she decided
to make it as a container for rice. They didn’t have any container for the rice
before. Her husband agreed with it.
The
wife put a small amount of rice in it and placed it in the kitchen. Her husband
went to the forest to collect branches. In the afternoon, when the wife wanted
to make rice, she was surprised because she had a lot of rice in the container.
She was confused. Nevertheless, she took a little for their food that day.
When
the man went home, his wife told him about it. They were confused and they
opened the container. They were shocked. The rice was getting more and
more.
They decided to share it to neighbors around them, but surprisingly the
rice became even more until they needed another container to keep it. Finally,
they sold some of it to the market and they got money.
Moral of the story: It’s
better to share our fortune to others.
