Once upon a time, in a small town in Japan, there was a sweet old lady named Yuki. Yuki had a little shop where she sold soft and tasty mochi — sweet rice cakes.
But these were not normal mochi. Yuki’s mochi were called Fortune Mochi. People believed that if you ate one, good luck would come!
One day, a boy named Haru walked past the shop. He was sad because he lost his toy. Yuki saw him and gave him a Fortune Mochi.
"Eat this, young boy," she said. "Good things will happen."
Haru ate the mochi. It was soft, sweet, and warm. After a few minutes, he walked home, and — surprise! His toy was waiting at his door. A kind neighbor had found it.
Haru ran back to the shop. "It’s true! Your mochi is magic!" he said.
Yuki smiled. "Sometimes, a little kindness brings good fortune."
From that day, more people came to the shop. Some wished for new friends, others for good health, and some for happiness. Every time, the Fortune Mochi helped in small, magical ways.
And so, Yuki’s little shop became the happiest place in town, and the Fortune Mochi brought smiles to everyone.
