These Japanese sandals are
called Geta. Geta are wooden sandals known for their raised platform,
often with two “teeth” or pegs. They are worn with traditional clothing like
kimono and yukata.
Once upon a time,
in a small village in Japan, there was a kind boy named Kenji. Kenji was poor,
but he always helped his neighbors. One day, while walking in the forest, he
found an old pair of Geta. The Geta looked broken, but Kenji picked them
up and cleaned them.
That night,
something strange happened. When Kenji wore the Geta, they started to shine!
Suddenly, the Geta began to move by themselves. They flew into the sky and
carried Kenji over the village! The Geta could fly!
The next day,
Kenji used the flying Geta to help people. He brought food to old people,
helped farmers in the fields, and saved a cat from a tall tree. Everyone in the
village was happy and thanked Kenji.
One evening, an
old man appeared at Kenji's door. He said, "These Geta are magic. You
found them because you are kind. Use them only for good."
Kenji promised to
always help others. From that day, the magic Geta stayed with Kenji, and he
became the hero of the village.
