In a garden, there were many trees and colorful flowers. One of them was red rose. All trees and flowers were friendly to beetles and butterflies, but not with the red rose. She always used her thorn protection, so that no animals could approach her. She didn’t want those animals brake her beautiful petals.
Rose arrogantly said, “You all are cheap. You are willing to be landed on by beetles and butterflies that come one after another. Not like me, I have self-respect. I’m not easily approached by those cheap animals.” The trees and flowers began to talk about this arrogant red rose, “She’s so arrogant. Is she the only one who is beautiful on this earth?” The gentle jasmine said, “Don’t think it too much, just let it be. You don’t need to care about it.” From that day on, no one wanted to chat with the rose. Finally, she felt bored and lonely in that garden.
One day, the garden’s owner would hold a party. She wanted to decorate her house with colorful flowers. She picked sunflowers, orchids, jasmines, and lilies. When she wanted to pick the rose, her finger was pricked by a sharp thorn. The owner gave up to pick the rose, “Although this flower is pretty, but its thorn was pricked my finger. Ah … I won’t use this one in my flower arrangement.” The rose was despondent.
The pine tree that was standing not far from her mocked, “Poor you. All the flowers are present at the party, including me. The owner cut some of my leaves to decorate her flower arrangement, while you are here alone, how pitty you are.” That saying made the rose sad. Her petals seemed withered day-by-day, then the poor flower died.
Moral value: Don’t be too proud of your strengths then look down on others. Everyone has his/her own specialities.
