The Honest Man

There was a poor garbage collector who lived in a small house with his two children. His wife had died a long time ago, so he took care of his children by himself. Every day, he collected trash to earn a little money for food. Even though his life was hard, he taught his children to be honest and kind.

One day, while working on the street, he found a wallet. Inside the wallet were lots of money, credit cards, and an address. He wanted to return it, so he went to the big house on the address. But the house helper saw him and thought he was a beggar. She shouted at him and told him to go away.

Before he left, he saw the owner of the house coming out. The poor man quickly stood at the gate and said, “Sir, I found your wallet.” The man was very surprised and thankful. He gave the poor man a lot of money and promised to send his two children to school until senior high school. The poor father went home with tears of joy, feeling thankful and proud to be honest.
