Yesterday, a little girl bought three chicks. At first, the girl was excited to have them. She looked very happy and could not stop smiling. Her mother put the chicks in a small cage, and the little girl played with them all day.
The three chicks were different from one another. Two of them had soft yellow feathers and looked very cute. Unfortunately, one of them was ugly. Its feathers were messy, and it looked smaller than the others. It also seemed nervous whenever the girl came near the cage.
The girl noticed that the ugly chick was often alone. The other chicks liked running and playing together, but the ugly chick stayed in a corner. The girl did not want to make it sad, so she played with the ugly chick, too. She gently held it in her hands and talked to it kindly.
Every day, the girl gave food and water to all the chicks. She made sure that each chick got enough food. Slowly, the ugly chick became more comfortable around her. It started following her around the yard and chirping happily when it saw her.
A few weeks later, the ugly chick changed. Its feathers grew thicker and cleaner. It became healthier and more active. Soon, it was just as beautiful as the other chicks.
The girl learned an important lesson. She realized that everyone deserves love and kindness, even if they look different. Because of her care, the little chick became happy and confident. From then on, the three chicks lived happily together.
